: How can you tell by looking at the flywheel.. : Is it because of the swirls??? : mind you I'm still new at this stuff : From my install. :  It's flat cut. I can see that it is because of the continuous swirls. : From the FAQ's Pages :  If you look close, there's a darker ring/line about 1.5" inboard from the outer edge. It's apparent in the lower left corner. That's the edge of the step. The center is taller then the outer edge by .008". It's so minor, but it makes a huge difference. : Also, Why is it flat for an NA versus stepped on a TT : Step 20. on the link below. : [ http://www.ttzd.com/tech/clutchtech.html ] My guess is it's a last second production change for the TT. They needed extra pressure applied to the friction disk and at a very late stage in the game I'd bet it was easier to re-machine a flywheel to apply extra pressure then redesign pressure plates or the friction disk.
